At First Glance
Because metaphysiology explores many metaphysical and spiritual concepts, it is easy to lump in the same "occult" or "new age" group as other metaphysical sites. Make no mistake, metaphysical elements are heavily embedded in most articles, giving off an impression of partiality to such notions. This impression, while inevitable, couldn't be further from the truth.
Metaphysiology is something new, beyond even the metaphysical. To understand how, it is best to properly define what the word metaphysiology means.
The word "metaphysics" was first used for Aristotle's philosophical works exploring questions about the nature of existence. In the last 100 years, metaphysical concepts expanded to include more spiritual elements, building on those philosophical foundations. Today, it has become a word outside science to label unconfirmed practices and beliefs typically found in spirituality.
Metaphysiology takes this metaphysical classification to a new level of study. While the world has continuously advanced, a deep chasm formed between spiritual and scientific views. By reapplying science to the philosophical and spiritual suggestions, it seeks to bridge the gap formed by the willful ignorance of blind faith.
Pseudo-science and Perspective
There is always a danger in using existing theories to prove a neighboring idea. Pseudoscience is the unwanted product of extending science into areas that "sound possible," yet break the rule of correlation does not equal causality. What that means is basically pseudoscience often uses loose, unverified links to assume something is true.
This website will have many instances of pseudoscience; however, it is the aim of metaphysiology to expose which truths are proven and which are unconfirmed. The foundational intention of this entire website is to provide people with new perspectives that might be beneficial to their overall growth, to use as each individual chooses.
By studying the effects of belief, even when untrue, we can better align our consciousness with our goals and needs.
Comments and Community
By participating in commenting or joining the Metaphysiology community, you will be taking part in the continuous evolution of the metaphysiological study. Every individual has a unique perspective to offer, and each one is welcome. Be warned, however, that offensive or destructive behavior in the community will not be tolerated. Share your views openly, but please do so without harming others.
This blog and website have no intention of conflicting with scientific theories. Ignoring what has been proven would be counter-intuitive to the aim of metaphysiology. There may be times when society has warped the science, however. Revealing those social perspectives, along with the scientific studies and opposing viewpoints is encouraged.
